Barbosa-Vásquez Conducts at Indiana University
Current member of the Doctoral Program in Opera and Orchestra Conducting at the Jacobs School of Music of Indiana University, the Colombian Maestro will be Premiering “Surquillo” for String Orchestra, a piece by Cueto a Peruvian Composer.

Led by the joyful and energy of Maestro Barbosa-Vásquez, next Sunday November 10 (2019) the prestigious Jacobs School of Music of Indiana University will be premiering the String Version of “Surquillo”, a worldwide acclaimed piece by the Peruvian Composer Daniel Cueto www.danielcueto.com in an outstanding Strings Orchestra Concert.
The concert will also host the performance of Elgar Strings Serenade and the Glazunov Sax Concerto with the winner of Soloist AdHocs competition Fall 2019 Indiana University, the Saxophonist Paul Lorenz, current Jacobs Student as a Senior in the Bachelor of Music degree in Performance.

Maestro Barbosa-Vásquez is currently based in Bloomington Indiana (USA), where is pursing his Doctor in Music Degree in the demanding Opera and Orchestra Conducting program at the Jacobs School of Music of Indiana University as winner of the Graduate Tuition Scholarship and Artistic Excelence Scholarship of this prestigious school. The Colombian Maestro is enjoying a growing international career due to his tireless work to achieve the best possible interpretation from each musical group under his baton. In addition, he keeps his Music Directorship of the Opera Summer Camp "Opera for the Community" in Los Angeles California (USA) and his guest conductor appointments and guest speaker as art leader and ambassador in different regions of the globe are increasing.
