Colombian Conducts Opera and Orchestra in Europe representing Latin-America: III International Condu
Maestro Barbosa-Vásquez will be the unique Colombian representing LatinAmerica at the important European competition. The event will be at early October 2018, where the "Talented Pride of Colombia" will be side by side with the more relevant Opera and Orchestra Conductors in the globe.

From October 2nd to 8th, Matera Italy will have the more important promises of the opera and orchestra conducting world together. The III International Conducting Competition Nino Rota will be performed in the Auditorium R. Gervasio and the public can see the competition. The selected orchestra for the event is the Orchestra of Magna Grecia.
After a very competitive selection based in videos of previous performances and the professional experiences of each conductor, the competition selected 70 amazing competitors. Mostly form Europe and USA, just one Colombian was invited to participate: Maestro Barbosa-Vásquez who will represent in addition LatinAmerica in the competition.

His experiences allow him to perform side by side with important musicians. Here we can see Maestro Barbosa-Vásquez sharing the stage with Nathan Cole, the Associate Concertino of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The recording is of his Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 with Jesus Toro as Soloist. A concerto full of emotion and great music.
But, now the next goal for maestro is in Matera Italy. Focused totally to this competition, the Colombian maestro is spending 10 hours per day in the preparation, he wants to have the best possible preparation. Based in Bloomington Indiana, where he is study with maestros Arthur Fagen and David Neely (professors of DMA in the most important university in USA to study music Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University), the young Colombian Maestro spend his days between scores and the gym. "This is a very important challenge, 9 works must be ready to the whole competition, is not only study a lot, is also workout and eat well to prepare your body and mind [...] in addition is very important to have a life balance where my wife is my best allied to get it" says maestro Barbosa-Vásquez.
